Car fridges are expensive, real expensive for something you may use once a year. But there are cheaper options. A friend of ours recently bought a Lumina fridge from ALDI. Here's an initial review.

The brand of this fridge is Lumina – no, I’d never heard of it either. Model LUXC-45B, Chinese built to Australian standards.
When did you buy it?
This fridge was purchased in September 2008.
How much did it cost?
$299! Aldi only has this sort of thing from time to time and when they do it’s usually good value for money.
Was it easy to set up and use?
The main difficulty we had was trying to follow the instruction manual. There was a bit of Chinglish and at least one picture didn’t correspond with the actual thermostat control on the fridge. But with a bit of trial and error we got it working well. I first tried the fridge inside on 240v. Overnight the fridge got very cold with ice forming on the alloy condenser. Before a trip I would plug the fridge into 240v for a least 24 hours.
