The G(PS) spot

I've been waiting for at least a couple of years for a few technologies to join up in the navigation market. I thought wouldn't it be great to get a hiking/adventure GPS with full mapping capability (just like a chart plotter) that has only touch screen control, full connectivity with you computer (and the internet) and which take full use of the better (including WAAS) receivers. We can use it for hiking, geocaching, four wheel driving, sailing and marine use and possibly even for street directions!

Well they're now here. The Garmin Oregon range.

I just got a great deal on my new christmas present a 400c (Australian marine maps). So I'll be reviewing it a lot more in an upcoming post.
