Games for kids in wet weather

Camping in the rain can be a disaster but it is also the opportunity for different activities. We just had a weekend away and it rained for a large part of it but it was still a good weekend away partly because we were prepared with different activities.

Good games for kids when camping are:

• cards
• simple board games
• chess, checkers, ludo
• dominos
• pass the pigs
• books - both reading and activity

A couple of tips:

• use games that can be packed down small and don't have lots of pieces
• think about using magnetic games
• pack your games in zip lock bags to keep them dry
• encourage kids to improvise - in the video you'll see our son and his mate pretending to role the dice because we forgot to take it
