Stay warmer in your sleeping bag

Staying warm in your sleeping bag while camping can be less hassle that you think. Using a hood greatly helps in reducing heat loss, the problem with a hood is that they are uncomfortable and your face/nose continues to get cold.

Use your bag upside down
If you use your bag upside down you can easily place your head under the hood without cinching it all down tight. I sleep on my side so breathing with you head fully under the sleeping bag hood is easily done out the side. It's just like putting your head under your bed covers on a cold night!

Interestingly it seems that you don't loose 50%-75% of the your body heat through your head according to wilderness medicine newsletter.

Upside down, inside out, stand on your head, sleep on your back, sleep on your front - yep that's a sleeping bag.

Do yourself a favour and get a swag and sleep how you want to sleep - warm and comfy.

sleeping with your hood over your head is warm, it sort of makes the sleeping bag into a swag.

Don't think I could fit a swag in my pack! Maybe a pack horse is what I need!
